License Terms
Last updated · TBD
This page covers two licenses: how the content of this site may be used, and the lease and sync licenses granted when you purchase music from our catalog.
Site Content & Intellectual Property
Ownership of Site Content
All content on this site — including written copy, design, photos, audio previews, code, and brand marks — is owned by Blackstock Music Group Inc. or its licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law.
Use of Brand Marks
Our brand names, logos, and visual identity are reserved. You may not use them without prior written permission, except for permitted fair-use commentary, reviews, or editorial references that identify Blackstock as the source.
User-Submitted Content
Anything you submit through our forms (questionnaires, audit submissions, contact messages) remains yours. By submitting, you grant us a limited license to use it for the purpose of responding to or fulfilling your request.
Catalog Licensing — Beats & Compositions
When you lease or license a composition from our catalog, you receive specific usage rights based on the tier you purchase. All standard lease tiers below include a royalty-free option — you pay once per license with no per-stream royalties or per-use surcharges. Custom broadcast and theatrical sync licenses are available separately for use cases that require them.
License Tiers
For independent artists testing ideas, building demos, or releasing on a limited scale. Terms (distribution caps, sales thresholds, expiration) to be finalized.
Higher streaming and distribution allowances, mix-ready stems, and broader commercial use rights. Terms to be finalized.
No distribution or stream caps. Non-exclusive — the same composition may still be leased to other artists. Terms to be finalized.
The composition is removed from leasing and granted exclusively to the buyer under negotiated terms. Sync, master, and publishing splits to be defined per agreement.
What's Included
Each lease tier specifies the file format delivered, the distribution and streaming allowances, and permitted use cases (streaming, monetized YouTube, music videos, etc.). Specifics will be enumerated here per tier.
Permitted and Prohibited Uses
Leased compositions cannot be re-licensed, resold, or claimed as the buyer's own composition. Any use beyond what the tier allows requires upgrading or a separate license.
Term and Renewal
Lease terms (duration, automatic renewal, upgrade paths to exclusive) will be defined per tier in the finalized agreement.
Sync, Master, and Publishing Rights
Standard lease tiers include royalty-free sync coverage for streaming, monetized social, and most independent music-video and short-film use. Custom sync licensing for TV, film, and advertising — along with master-use clearance and publishing splits — is handled separately and requires direct contact. Royalty-free options remain available for qualifying use cases at each tier.
